INSTA*LOVE :: Susie Foulerton Walker :: @rose_tinted_glasses

Seriously over the moon excited to feature another one of my very favorite Instagram talents in our INSTA*LOVE series: Susie Foulerton Walker :: @rose_tinted_glasses! Her feed is incredibly beautiful, from soft pastels to bright, neon pops of color. I'm totally obsessed!
Where do you live?
Sheffield, UK. It’s a city in south Yorkshire and is full of character, and characters.

What do you love/love to do?
I do brand development for a group of rum bars. I am a bit of a cocktail geek and love exploring different types of cuisine. I also love being outdoors; Sheffield is a great place to live for that as the beautiful peak district is a stone’s through away. But to be honest I love exploring the countryside and cities just the same.
What inspires you?
I am lucky enough to be surrounded by people who do what they love and most of them do it for a living. It’s just a kind, creative energy and drive that I see in my friends and family that propels me forward I think.

What do you look for when taking a photo?
Light is always the first thing. There are certain times of day which just don’t work (for me). Bright colours always catch my eye, as do clean lines. Lately I have become a little obsessed with plant life. All the best colours and patterns are found in nature. I only use my iPhone, so I certainly don’t class myself as a photographer! It’s just my favourite hobby.
What are your favorite apps and filters to edit with?
A Color Story (am guessing you have been hearing that a lot lately). But it really is the best for making the most of the colours that are already there. It has genuinely changed the way I take photographs. Also VSCO for when I edit softer or atmospheric shots.

Who are your favorite fellow Instagrammers?
Ok this is HARD. I have so many favourites. Here is a handful that spring to mind. For colour and composition @rclayton @mattcrump @spooks333 @rebeccanewport @clarenicolson @lellopepper @sprinkledlife and @creativekipi. For adventures @thehatchling and @nomadicfare. For gorgeous everyday captures @ananewyork @wanderforawhile @porthjess @icebaby_icecreamvan and for all the LOLs @fashiondads_ (seriously, read the captions, they get me every time).
What does Instagram mean to you?
I started using it to get inspiration for work, but soon found it to be the most social of social medias. I found a very fun and supportive little corner of it to occupy and I am always amazed at the huge amounts creativity I see in my news feed. I love it.
Aren't her photos incredible?! She's also utterly cute and sweet and such an awesome "Insta-friend" (yeah, I just made that word up) to have in your corner rooting you on. If you're not already following her, you're nuts and should get your ass over to her feed like now: @rose_tinted_glasses!

A special thank you to Susie for taking part in our INSTA*LOVE series!

Palm Springs Iconic Home Tour

As some of you may know, this week is Modernism Week in Palm Springs, California and we had the unique opportunity of touring the newly named historic site, the Menrad House, designed by William Krisel. It was the perfect balance of casual flow and minimalist simplicity. All I can say is I wanted to move in right then and there. Loving this retro design and those clerestory windows allowing for all of that natural light without sacrificing ones privacy. That artwork is fantastic and the bedding in that master bedroom...  love . This patio cover is to die for. A genius way to provide a bit of shade without feeling closed in. The design is so simple but the overall effect is absolutely stunning. Apparently, these homes sold so fast that a brochure was never even produced to promote them. I snapped a few shots of the neighboring houses and will share them soon. Next up, a tour of vintage trailers and caravans on Saturday. Can't wait to get inspired for wh

Purple Power Juice

As we wrap up our 3 day juice reboot , I find myself thinking about this fruity concoction we enjoyed on day 2 . A strong, berry burst with a bite of ginger, perfect as a morning pick-me-up. Remember, fruit is best consumed in the morning on an empty stomach because it moves through your digestive system much faster than other foods. 6 cups of concord grapes 1 green apple 1/2 cup of blackberries 2 2"  pieces of ginger (I used 1 1" piece because ginger is super strong) Enjoy! xo Sécia Check out our other juice recipes  here !
