True Romance

{flash!} A most memorable evening ( surrounded by dead people! ) watching one of my favorite flicks. A palm tree lined sky, prosciutto, wine and cheese and True Romance . The Hollywood Forever Cemetery has become one of my favorite LA spots! It was a total blast laughing and cheering my favorite scenes with the crowd.  The perfect way to say goodbye to brilliant director, Tony Scott, with not only an introduction to the film by his wife but also a special surprise at the end when a teary-eyed Patricia Arquette made an unexpected speech. Ben had only seen the movie once years ago when we first started dating so for him, it was like watching a whole new film and it was super-cute witnessing his reactions.  A personal highlight for me... his tapping me on the shoulder in the middle of the movie and gesturing to a brightly-lit  statue , the tombstone of Johnny Ramone. I freakin' love this town. He caught a little video snippet of Patricia too! xo

"The Flapper" Champagne Cocktail

Anyone who knows me knows I'll use any excuse to pop a bottle of champagne. This vintage-inspired concoction has become my go to beverage for just such an occasion and it's ( almost ) as much fun to make as it is to consume. I was super excited when Crystal of Wabi Sabi asked if I wanted to add a special drink to her cocktail series ( 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ) and of course, this was it! Not too sweet, and just enough bubbles to make your head spin ( in a good way ). What you need... 1 sugar cube a few dashes of aromatic cocktail bitters fresh raspberries & blackberries champagne (my very, very, very favorite champagne is Francis Ford Coppola's Sofia Blanc de Blancs ) Place the sugar cube in a champagne flute Add a few dashes of the cocktail bitters (the more you add, the prettier the pink color will be) Pour champagne and add the fresh berries Hope you love it as much as I do! xo

Got Lace?

Yes, that is totally a kissy-face you are witnessing. And yes, I've always prided myself in making fun of them, but what the hell! I think every girl should have one in her arsenal. I'm starting to feel like a total narcissist but that's what happens when you work with a super-awesome photographer and have way too many great shots to choose from! xo Sécia Check out more fun with Crystal from Wabi Sabi right here !
