santa monica {to} malibu

Last week Ben and I spent the day driving up the PCH from Santa Monica to Malibu stopping to take photos with my favorite polaroid camera along the way. Ben was too sweet pulling over abruptly whenever I saw the "perfect" shot. He even received a lovely parking ticket while in the car waiting for me... oops. But the highlight was totally spending time walking along the beach together.  How can you not love this guy? xo

SEXIEST DAD YET

I've been following  DAD'S ARE THE ORIGINAL HIPSTERS  for quite sometime and have even submitted a few of my own (they're super awesome but unfortunately have yet to make the site). They've posted some pretty awesome hipster dads in the past but this one has got to be the sexiest dad yet... Just felt the need to share. Check out more hipster dads here . xo

tea obsession

Those of you who know me know I should probably be a member of Starbucks Anonymous. They say the first step is to admit that you have a problem. So, in an effort to avoid consuming their yummy beverages  too  often while I'm on my hiatus from work, I've re-kindled my love affair with tea. Not only does it increase my daily water intake but it's also a far cry from the amount of calories I consume in those lattes. My current favorites are... TEAVANA A blend of their White Ayurvedic Chai Tea and their Samurai Chai Mate Tea Smells absolutely heavenly and has a spicy but subtle bite ALLEGRO Pomegranate Green Organic Tea So smooth and super yummy with a touch of milk THE REPUBLIC OF TEA Cardamon Cinnamon Tea An old favorite and perfect with honey TAZO Passion Tea Super fruity and best over ice Yum. What are some of your favorites? xo

Bacon, Egg & Toast Cups

We made these yummy guys for breakfast the other day. Found the recipe here via Pamplemousse1983 . Super easy and super cute.  INGREDIENTS 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 8 slices white or whole-wheat sandwich bread 6 slices bacon 6 large eggs Coarse salt and ground pepper DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly butter 6 standard muffin cups. Flatten bread slices slightly and remove the crusts. Cut each slice in half, then press 2 halves into each muffin cup, overlapping slightly and making sure bread comes up to edge of cup. Use extra bread to patch any gaps. Brush bread with remaining butter. In a large skillet (or microwave), cook bacon over medium, until almost crisp, 4 minutes, flipping once. (It will continue to cook in the oven.) Lay 1 bacon slice in each bread cup and crack an egg over each. Season with salt and pepper. Bake until egg whites are just set, about 20 minutes. Run a small knife around cups to loosen toasts. Serve immediately. Personal Note

remembering DOMESTIC BLISS

Remember this insanely sexy and utterly dysfunctional photo shoot with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, photographed by Steven Klein for W Magazine ? In the accompanying article Christopher Bagley described the inspiration;  " Pitt wanted to tell a darker, truer tale, one that explored the 'unidentifiable malaise' that so often haunts a seemingly happy couple."  These photos are ridiculously brilliant. xo
