How to Make a Tissue Ghost

Do you remember making ghosts out of tissue when you were a kid? I still think they're the cutest things ever especially when you make a bunch and hang them everywhere. They're super easy to make and you probably have everything you need to make them with already laying around the house.
2 pieces of tissue, a black marker, ribbon or string
roll one tissue into a ball.
place the rolled tissue in the center of the second tissue.
fold the second tissue over the rolled one.
twist the second tissue to secure the rolled one in place.
tie the ribbon around the twist leaving one end long.
flip over so the bow-side is facing down.
with the marker, draw two small dots for the eyes and a larger one for the mouth.
Use the long end of the ribbon to hang your ghosts.
This will help to achieve maximum floating effect.

    i remember making these over tootsie pops. i'd completely forgotten about them. thanks for the reminder. i should make some this year!

Palm Springs Iconic Home Tour

As some of you may know, this week is Modernism Week in Palm Springs, California and we had the unique opportunity of touring the newly named historic site, the Menrad House, designed by William Krisel. It was the perfect balance of casual flow and minimalist simplicity. All I can say is I wanted to move in right then and there. Loving this retro design and those clerestory windows allowing for all of that natural light without sacrificing ones privacy. That artwork is fantastic and the bedding in that master bedroom...  love . This patio cover is to die for. A genius way to provide a bit of shade without feeling closed in. The design is so simple but the overall effect is absolutely stunning. Apparently, these homes sold so fast that a brochure was never even produced to promote them. Chai Tea Coffee

I've been having a love affair with my french press lately. There's just something kinda awesome about pouring in the water and watching the tea or coffee swirl around and brew. And don't even get me started on how much I love pressing down the grounds or leaves {yeah… I know that's pretty weird}. The other day I was craving coffee but realized I had run out of milk (which is a must if I'm having coffee). Dilemma? Nope! I thought, why not just brew my favorite tea with a bit of coffee too! I've had a " dirty chai " before and they're not half bad.  OMG this concoction was soooooo good! Just mix 1 heaping scoop of  White Ayurvedic Chai with  1 scoop of your favorite coffee. Add water and strain (or get that everlasting enjoyment out of pressing that french press like I do!).
