Here's that little project I mentioned that I've begun working on.

It's the long and beautiful process of archiving and restoring my old family photographs, some of which were taken more than 100 years ago. My mother sent them home with me when I visited Denver a few weeks ago with strict instructions to return them all to her via digital discs. The stack is like six inches thick and there's still more I left behind.

This is going to be a long process, especially when I begin the restoration effort. Some of these photographs are absolutely brilliant which makes this that much more amazing.

I'll keep everyone posted on the progress. This should keep me busy for awhile.

ReplyDeletethese are so awesome! i have been meaning to do the same sort of posts with a bunch of old pictures i have of my grandparents. do you have any info on the military picture at the bottom? where he is or what he was doing? i am prior army and am all about that type of stuff :)
ReplyDelete@Barbara, the military photo was when my grandfather was in the Army in World War II. Not sure where he was in the photo but I know he fought the Japanese. I have so many military photos of him and they're so cool!

This is a really great idea. I should try it on my own. I have lots of old pictures of my family hidden somewhere. I still have to buy a scanner, though. LOL.
ReplyDeletei was able to work on a similar project a few years ago. it was a very emotional experience but also very fulfilling. the ones you shared are great.
