We're back with another favorite spot in our Brunch Love series :: Lavender & Honey Espresso Bar . This is the cutest, little coffee shop in Pasadena and they have such a yummy twist... a toast bar ! These toasts are incredible! It's so hard to pick a favorite (and honestly, you don't have to... I just get more than one!). If you're looking for a light brunch treat then this is the place. The coffee is delish too (and oh so pretty). I'm dying to try their hot chocolate bar but there are so many yummy flavors, I can never choose! We love a good frozen hot chocolate and guess what... Ben and I are constantly on the hunt for the best donuts we can find and it's safe to say that Donut Friend is our very, VERY favorite joint.  Yeah, yeah... I know that donuts are not technically brunch but my response to that is SAYS WHO?!  We think they deserve a spot in our Brunch Love series  because, well, donuts. Good enough for me! DIY donuts. Super fresh donuts. Guten-free, vegan donuts. Need I say more?! We are obsessed with these yummy babies and it is seriously so difficult to pick a favorite so I think we've developed a pretty good system: We get a four-pack (or a six-pack if we're really hungry) between the two of us and that way we can just take bites of everything! So yeah... we think Donut Friend is worth the Brunch Love stamp of approval. In fact, I'm craving them like crazy ever since I started writing this post so... see ya later, I'm off to get my fix! Three words... Breakfast. All. Day. YES! We've been enjoying breakfast/brunch/lunch at Blu Jam Cafe for years and there's a reason we keep visiting... and revisiting: the atmosphere is chill, the staff is awesome and the food is amazing every single time. They have three locations in the Los Angeles area but we're valley livin' so the Sherman Oaks branch is our spot. Daniel, the sweetest most friendly general manager ever, often stops by the table to say hello and chat and we always leave with a smile.  Mmmm... french press coffee. I almost always get one of the many varieties of the eggs Benedict but this time I wanted to try something new (AND SWEET!) so I went for their signature dish, Crunchy French Toast. The not-so-secret secret - they roll it in corn flakes to give it a unique crunch AND it doesn't come with your average maple syrup... It comes with the yummiest vanilla bean sauce ever! SO GOOD! Santa Monica can be a nightmare to navigate on the weekend but this little gem is off the beaten path just enough to get in without a reservation or waiting for a lifetime. Blue Daisy is not only super cute, the food is also to die for! They put us in a little, intimate corner (hence the low-lit photos) which was perfect for some sweet Sunday time with my love. Just look at those figs and goat cheese breads, drizzled with honey... and those zucchini hash browns with poached eggs and a side of horseradish and cream cheese sauce... OMG I'm craving them again just dreaming about them! There's my honey and his yummy Bloody Mary (topped with a slice of bacon, of course). Don't worry, he's not two-fisting it, that's my mimosa! Tucked away on Sunset Blvd. is a little diner with a lot a flavor. Dinette has some of the best waffles and breakfast pizza we have ever tasted! And trust us... we are always on the hunt for waffles and pizza! It's outdoor only seating which makes people watching a lot more interesting- people watching in Downtown LA is pretty crazy to say the least. Just look at the aftermath of our little brunch date! YUM! Now if only I could get them to pay me  in free meals  to write such rave reviews.
