INSTA*LOVE :: ANA MARGARIDA MARQUES :: @anamarques210376

It's INSTA*LOVE time again and this week we're traveling all the way to Portugal for a Q&A with the super talented Ana Margarida Marques :: @anamarques210376. Her photos are gorgeous. Like seriously, amazingly gorgeous. I'm utterly in love with her pale, pastel color palette and her feed reminds me of some soft, dreamy, far-away wonderland.
Where do you live?

I live in the Beautiful and historical city of Lisbon in Portugal, but I spent my childhood in a rural village full of charm and details.

What do you love/love to do?

I Love the moments that I spend with my family, my roots, travel and photography!

What inspires you?

My travels (every year I choose a new destination to meet). Also inspired with romantic and historical atmospheres. Simple things that nature offers, little details, books and music.
What do you look for when taking a photo?

When I take a photograph, I try the best points of light, streamlined and minimalist environments. Love details.

What are your favorite apps and filters to edit with?

Well I have a daughter... I live in color pink world. I always have tendency [for] soft colors, pastels and light backgrounds roses. I only use the Filters of instagram: reyes, myfair, june! And I Love to play with lights!
Who are your favorite fellow Instagrammers?

There are so many talented people in instagram, it's difficult to choose but
I Love the work of some photographers of instagram @elena_sheneilova, @adrianemurray, @mysuburbanfarmAnd my creative friends @in_somnia_ and @violaondaviva.
Isn't she lovely? I love that every year she chooses a new place to travel and explore. What a great idea! I just can't get enough of her dreamy photos. I love her composition and use of negative space. And those colors! This is just a taste of what her beautiful feed has to offer. Head over to @anamarques210376 and treat your eyes to Ana's amazing dreamscapes and say hello!

A special thank you to Ana for taking the time for our INSTA*LOVE Q&A!

Palm Springs Iconic Home Tour

As some of you may know, this week is Modernism Week in Palm Springs, California and we had the unique opportunity of touring the newly named historic site, the Menrad House, designed by William Krisel. It was the perfect balance of casual flow and minimalist simplicity. All I can say is I wanted to move in right then and there. Loving this retro design and those clerestory windows allowing for all of that natural light without sacrificing ones privacy. That artwork is fantastic and the bedding in that master bedroom...  love . This patio cover is to die for. A genius way to provide a bit of shade without feeling closed in. The design is so simple but the overall effect is absolutely stunning. Apparently, these homes sold so fast that a brochure was never even produced to promote them. I snapped a few shots of the neighboring houses and will share them soon. Next up, a tour of vintage trailers and caravans on Saturday. Can't wait to get inspired for wh...

DIY // Super Cute Pom Poms

This is probably the most fun (and the most addictive ) DIY ever! I seriously made these for days while watching holiday movies on the couch. They're actually pretty easy too! The more you make, the better you get at making them! Here's what you need: Yarn A fork (yes... a fork!) Scissors Step 1 Loosely wrap the yarn around the fork about 70-90 times. The thinner the yarn, the more you'll end up needing to wrap. Tip: It's important to keep it loose to make it easier to work with in the next steps. Step 2 Thread another piece of yarn through the center of the fork and tie a double-knot creating a bow-like shape. Remove from the fork and flip the ball over and double-knot the back as well. Tip: Double-knotting both sides will ensure the pom pom doesn't fall apart as you begin to shape it. Step 3 Cut all the loops on both sides. You'll see it now starting to look more like a pom pom! Step 4 Cut the edges to shape it into a ball. Tip: Use the s...
