CABAZON DINOSAUR ADVENTURE!

We decided to get outta dodge last weekend for a temporary escape from the brutal fire near Los Angeles so we packed up the pup and headed for an adventure to the Cabazon Dinosaurs ! Remember this funky place from Pee-wee's Big Adventure ? Aside from the scorching 104 degree heat (no joke!), it was pretty awesome checking out the massive T-Rex. I even ventured inside, climbing up the inside of his belly until I reached his jaws (just like Pee-wee!). It was hot... like ridiculously hot... but totally worth it. Truly one of the weirdest roadside attractions. If you're ever looking for something strange and fun in the desert, this would be it! xo Sécia F O L L O W   U S   O N   I N S T A G R A M   ::    @seciasophia

True Romance

{flash!} A most memorable evening ( surrounded by dead people! ) watching one of my favorite flicks. A palm tree lined sky, prosciutto, wine and cheese and True Romance . The Hollywood Forever Cemetery has become one of my favorite LA spots! It was a total blast laughing and cheering my favorite scenes with the crowd.  The perfect way to say goodbye to brilliant director, Tony Scott, with not only an introduction to the film by his wife but also a special surprise at the end when a teary-eyed Patricia Arquette made an unexpected speech. Ben had only seen the movie once years ago when we first started dating so for him, it was like watching a whole new film and it was super-cute witnessing his reactions.  A personal highlight for me... his tapping me on the shoulder in the middle of the movie and gesturing to a brightly-lit  statue , the tombstone of Johnny Ramone. I freakin' love this town. He caught a little video snippet of Patricia too! xo

:: On My Reading List ::

This time of year you will often find me with my nose in a book. There's just something about springtime that makes me want to lay outside and read to my heart's content. But alas, I have a confession to make... my bookshelf is full of purchased volumes whose bindings have yet to be broken. Therefore, I've made myself a promise to try  as hard as I can  to pull a novel off of my bookshelf instead of buying something new. With that said, here's my spring/summer (maybe into fall/winter) reading list... I'm actually kind of embarrassed that I haven't read some of these yet! I have a habit of re-reading my favorite books over and over again instead of picking up something new. What's on your reading list? xo
